What Is Badal Umrah And Its Ruling?

If a person did not perform Umrah during their lifetime, another person can do it on their behalf.

Abu Razin (may Allah be pleased with him) once came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, “O Messenger of Allah, my father is an old man who cannot perform Hajj or Umrah, nor can he travel.”

The Messenger ﷺ said,

“Perform Hajj and Umrah on behalf of your father.”

(Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi, and others)

🖋 Shaykh ibn Baaz (may Allah have mercy on him) said:

“Performing Hajj or Umrah for the deceased is among the most virtuous means of drawing closer to Allah. It is an action that benefits many Muslims who have passed away.”
